TuckBar

Privacy policy

TuckBar runs entirely on your Mac. It does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

Last updated June 11, 2026

The short version: TuckBar has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no tracking. Nothing you do in the app leaves your computer. There is nothing for us to see, sell, or lose.

What we collect

Nothing. TuckBar does not collect, log, or transmit any personal or usage data. It does not include analytics or telemetry, it does not show ads, it does not create an account, and it does not connect to any TuckBar server, because there isn't one.

Permissions TuckBar asks for, and why

macOS will ask your approval for a couple of system permissions. Each is used only on your Mac, in the moment, for the feature it powers.

Screen Recording

TuckBar samples the wallpaper pixels directly behind the menu bar so it can paint a matching strip over it, which is what makes the bar appear to vanish. This sampling happens live, on your Mac. The captured image is used to draw the cover and is then discarded. It is never written to disk, never uploaded, and never shared.

Automation (System Events)

To hide and show the system menu bar and the Dock instantly, TuckBar sends Apple Events to the built-in System Events helper. This only changes local macOS settings on your machine. No information is read from or sent anywhere as a result.

Open at login (optional)

If you enable it, TuckBar registers itself as a login item through Apple's standard mechanism so it starts with your Mac. You can turn this off at any time.

Data sharing

There is no data to share. TuckBar does not send anything to us, and it does not include any third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics providers.

Children's privacy

TuckBar is a utility for macOS and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Because the app collects nothing, we expect changes to be rare.
